Valero receives state safety recognition

BENICIA -

Valero Energy Corp. celebrated receiving a prestigious state safety recognition Friday.



The event, held on the refinery's giant Benicia campus, stressed health and safety, and even started with the local operation's vice president and general manager Doug Comeau alerting the large crowd how to properly exit the venue in the event of an emergency.



Valero was designated a "Star Site" by the California Occupational Safety & Health Administration (Cal-OSHA). The state agency designates workplaces that follow the highest industrial safety and health program standards.
